Prudence Flint, The Stand, 2019
Prudence Flint (b. 1962) is an Australian artist who lives and works in Melbourne. She is known for her psychologically charged, dreamlike images of women in pink-hued domestic spaces, which reflect her own experience of being a woman. Flint received a B.A. in Fine Arts from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1989 and an M.A. in Fine Art from Monash University in 2008. Her work is held in the collections of the City of Port Phillip, Artbank, BHP Billiton, City of Gold Coast, University of Wollongong, Castlemaine Art Museum and in numerous private collections. She has won many awards, including St Kevin’s Art Show Prize (2018), the Len Fox Painting Award (2016), the Portia Geach Memorial Award (2010), and was awarded the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize (2004).
