Lecture: Antonia Showering at New York Studio School
Antonia Showering is a British figurative painter known for her emotionally charged works featuring figures set against hazy landscapes or ambiguous domestic scenes. She explores themes of subjectivity, memory, intimacy and fear. Her process evokes the chance-based methods of Surrealism. Showering has exhibited internationally, with solo shows at Timothy Taylor (2022) and White Cube (2020). She holds her BA from City and Guilds of London Art School and an MFA from the Slade. Her work has been acquired by the New Orleans Museum of Art, Louisiana; the British Museum, London; and the Government Art Collection, UK.
