Orbiting, an exhibition by Hilary Pecis is the artist's first institutional solo show in China. Curated by Leo Li Chen, the exhibition includes 20-plus works that the artist created over the last five years, including new works painted specifically for this show. Interior still-life and scenes of landscapes are recurring motifs in Pecis’ work. Through rich palettes and elaborate patterns, Pecis connects her own individual experiences with the historicity of modern art. The candid subjectivity and expressive colors of Pecis permeate through objects and nature, interiors and exteriors, individuals and environments, and reveals eternity in fleeting moments.
