Timothy Taylor is delighted to announce a new presentation of works for West Bund Art & Design by artists Daniel Crews-Chubb, Armen Eloyan, Philip Guston, Damien Hirst, Alex Katz, Leon Kossoff, Sahara Longe, Chris Martin, Eddie Martinez, Annie Morris, Kiki Smith, Antoni Tàpies and Eduardo Terrazas. The current presentation combines the gallery’s historical interest in the legacy of post-war European and American abstraction, as seen in works by Philip Guston and Alex Katz, with a new focus on early and mid-career American and British artists. A younger generation of artists such as Daniel Crews-Chubb, Armen Eloyan and Eddie Martinez responds to these older artists' discoveries in gestural brushwork, playfully combining abstraction with figuration using new forms and incorporating foreign materials such as glitter, collage and sand. In their exciting new visions of art, they take influence from contemporary issues such as climate change, the aesthetics of the internet and the effects of globalisation.
